Grande Prairie is a city located in the northwestern part of the province of Alberta in the Western part of Canada, located on the southern edge of the Peace River Country. Grande Prairie has adopted the Trumpeter swan as an official symbol due to the fact that it is located near the migration route and summer nesting grounds. Because of this Grande Prairie is sometimes referred to as the Swan City.

This city is known for it’s large, beautifully landscaped Golf courses and parks. The live music scene is also fairly big in this area as it hosts lots of outdoor, summer festivals as well as having a multitude of year round venues for great live music, usually dominated by punk rock and metal. If you enjoy winter sports Grande Prairie offers plenty of snowmobiling and cross country skiing in the winter as well.No matter what the season, there seems to be plenty to do in Grande Prarie, Alberta.
