How much is an alvarez guitar worth with a model number 5025 and the serial number is 26526?

This is a tough question to answer. I own Serial # 26352 of this same model - I bought it new in 1980 and have had it ever since. It's a terrific guitar and has served me well, and I've traveled all over the US and Western Europe with it. The only modification I have made to mine was about a year ago; I installed an active LR Baggs I-Beam pickup under the bridge (with a strap button position jack) after years of using a variety of passive stick-on and sound hole snap in pickups.

I've seen a price of $800.00 on this model fairly recently, but I think that's probably high. I would estimate that this model today, without any modifications and in Excellent condition would fetch around $550.00 - $600.00, retail. The problem is that no one is going to pay you full retail like they would a guitar shop or other music equipment retailer, and a guitar of that age is probably no longer in "Excellent" condition. I think you could reasonably ask $425.00 - $450.00 as a private seller for that model guitar in that pristine condition.
