Which fairy tales do humans marry animals?

The closest thing would be the Beauty and the Beast. The girl, Belle is abducted. it is never explained what happened to her businessman/inventor father, who vanished one day on a business trip. What if the Beast man murdered him? How could you love someone who murdered a family member? Woof! I don"t like it. I am referring to some lose ends in the Disney cartoon.
