Can't strip when required?

Cant strips are required where built-up roofing meets a vertical surface, because the roof membrane is stiff and will crack if it has to bend 90 degrees. The cant supports a more gentle bend in the roof membrane and allow the felts to turn up the wall and end above the roof deck.
