Cliques are mean to others, because they are different and think their differences contribute most to the school. They all think they are superior against other cliques and so are mean to show to them that "yes we are mean, but we are still superior so we get to do whatever we want." Also, people tend to think differences are "weird," so when cliques are different, they dislike each other and are mean.
