Can a 1998 Chevy S-10 2.2 be replaced with a 4.3?

4cyl 2.2 be replaced witha vortec v6 4.3L? I believe a lot of the parts are engine specific...so I guess the answer is yes..but you'd end up replacing a lot more than the engine.
