Why do they call some smartphones blackberry?

If you are asking about a blackberry, as in a phone, then it was not originally called a Blackberry. It was first called a Strawberry as the inventors thought the little buttons looked like strawberry seeds. They then thought that the Word didn't have the right ring to it so someone suggested the name blackberry, and it just caught on!
