How does ws button works on Mercedes Benz?

Good question! The W/S switch stands for Winter/Summer Some people actually use this switch and some people have no idea about it. All it does is: In the W mode the transmission starts out in 2nd gear And in S mode it starts out in 1st gear. Most people will use the W mode in winter to help with tire slip on snow or icy conditions, or older people will use the W mode for a smoother take-off from a stop and lighter shifts. Hope that helps.
