What is unique about the harpy eagle?

The Harpy Eagle (Harpia harpyja) is a large eagle that hunts tree dwelling mammals, including sloths and monkeys. The adult Harpy is an apex hunter, putting it at the top of the natural food chain. Though rare, it is found from Mexico, Central America and into South America as far south as Argentina. It is sometimes known as the American Harpy Eagle.
