Can a colorblind student become a computer engineer?

Absolutely, yes. You might not be able to become a graphic designer or a user interface designer, but other than that, you can do anything else. Most software is written using a text editor, which is pretty much black-and-white anyway. So don't let that minor issue stop you for even a moment!
