Is it serious to have ABS light on?

As long as the light remains on, the vehicle will not have a functioning abs (anti-lock brake system). The wheels will lock up during a panic stop. When this happens you lose your ability to steer out of a situation. Once the abs has been repaired the light will go out. Take it to a garage soon.
