At midday, when the sun is at its highest point in the sky, it casts light directly downward. This results in shadows being much shorter and often directly beneath objects, making them less visible. Additionally, if the sun is directly overhead, the angle of the light can create minimal shadowing, making it harder to perceive your shadow.
