What do i do my emergency brake won't go off?

The problem may be with your park brake cables. Over time they become rusted and corroded and they pull out and won't go back, holding the brake shoes or pads against the brake surface and need to be replaced. However the problem could be the latch that holds the park brake lever in place when it is on. If if the release button does not unlock the lever, It won't release. The gear type latch may need lubricated with rust and grease dissolving solvent until it moves freely.
