I found out with my Yukon that it needed a new IAC (Idle Air Control) Valve. The first timeit happened to me the dealership only cleaned it without replacing it, but it did it again, and I replaced it myself. Idles a great deal better now and doesn't sputter or idle down. Try that.

AnswerI own a 2001 Yukon Denali w/a 6.0 Litre. Basically the same problem. Believe it or not, fuel injector cleaners are not enough to correct this problem. Pull the air intake hose off the front of the throttle body & use spray THROTTLE BODY cleaner NOT CARB CLEANER. Works like a charm!! Drive for a couple days & repeat. This is a very common problem on all Yukon's & Tahoes..

Good Luck!!!

Thank you for the help I went with the Throttle body cleaner trick Worked like a charm gave me just enough rpm to keep the idle smooth and saved me alot of money for the Idle control valve
