I just tried this and it was accomplished as follows:
As reference, I will describe the removal of the front-right door panel. Also, I kept the window all the way up. 1) Remove upper-left corner screw covered by a plastic plug, and latch handle screw. Also remove push in pin on the side of the upper-right corner (push in the middle part and then pull it out from the outer part.) 2) Remove switch panel. Carefully pry up the left side with a thin screw driver. Once the tab is visible, slide it to the left and you should be able to free the connectors. 3) Remove the arm rest. slide a thin flat screwdriver under the piece on top, look for the tabs and pry the piece upwards. When the piece is out, remove the two screws that are visible. 4) Going back to the latch handle. Remove the little plastic block under the handle. (I pried the little tabs on it and pushed it in) Then, try an slide the entire assembly to the left. carefully pull the assy. straight out, enough to show the wire hook attached to the handle. Pry sideways the little plastic tab holding the wire hook to the handle and pull the wire upwards. Try not to move the wire too much to avoid complications on the other end. 5) Remove the plastic cover above the upper-left corner of the panel. Pull the top side straight out and then the entire piece upwards. 6) Detach the lower side of the panel from the door. Slide a flat screw driver under the right lower side of the panel and pry it outwards as close as possible to the plugs to avoid breakage. 7) Once all the plugs are free you should be able to push the entire panel upwards to free the top edge and finally remove the panel. You should now have full access to the speaker.
Follow the instructions accordingly for the left door.
I hope my instructions can help to accomplish your goal. Good luck!
Try to use Toyota speaker adapter plugs so you don't need to cut wires and mess the electric system up. You can get them from Ebay or Amazon.Copyright © 2026 eLLeNow.com All Rights Reserved.
