The VC-10 was the fasted, at it's time - and loudest - sub sonic aircraft still in service.

• VC-10 - 580 mph (933 km/h)
• Tri-Star - 723 mph (1,163 km/h)

I believe that it still holds the record as the loudest aircraft still in use.
