Do you have to drop the transmission to change the oil pan on an 1988 Chevy pickup with a 350 engine?

You SHOULD be able to disconnect the motor mounts then lift the engine a few inches to remove the oil pan. If you can get to it that way it's a lot better than messing with everything else.
