Why are some people afraid of caterpillars?

I am just afraid of any thing that creeps around, like grub worms, caterpillars, and especially maggots! I am not phobic, they just seem nasty, especially the hairy caterpillars. Who knows what is in those hairs. Anyway, I just find them disgusting.
