Can you get your CDL if you had a DUI 8 years ago?

Yes. If you've only had the one DUI, it was eight years ago, and you've kept a pretty clean driving record since, you might receive some scrutiny over the DUI, but I don't think it'll bring a lot of bias against you in finding employment with an entry level company.
