How do you remove the handle from a Quicksilver 3000 marine throttle shifter?

First remove the black fast idle button in the center of the lower part of the handle...I used a flat head screwdriver...Then use a socket to remove the nut holding the handle on...No worrys if you break the black button, it is easily replaced for about $10.
