Plasterboard, also known as drywall, is primarily made of gypsum, which is a non-combustible material. While it is resistant to fire, it can still be damaged by extreme heat and may release gases when exposed to flames. However, it does not burn in the same way as flammable materials. In fire-rated constructions, plasterboard is often used to help slow the spread of fire.
