What is the history of dragon fruit in Vietnam?

Based on the stories, the fruit was from fire breathing dragons. Whenever the dragons breathe fire, the tail of the fire was a fruit . When the dragon was slain, the fruits were collected and was given to the emperor. The dragon that breathed the fruits were eaten by the soldiers and believed that they got the strength of a dragon.
