Why is it when you hook your ipod up to your Xbox 360 it only gives you some of the songs on your ipod?

I dont know why this happens, but to help...you can put your MP3 files onto a flashdrive which you can plug into your Xbox 360 and at the XBOX home, you can edit songs and play them while you play your game.
