When it is raining outside, exterior painting is fruitless. You will end up with an uneven coat and curing (drying) of the paint would be faulty. For the best performance of your paint, it is best to have dry weather and moderate temperatures.

If you are doing interior painting while it is raining, make sure that you have adequate ventilation for your well-being as well as to help the paint dry.

ive found that the use of an umbrella is absolutely essential I.e. Outdoor electric jet tubs with Bose playing "how does it feel" but seriously folks of course u can,,,...,,,a watercolor!!!

Answer: Interior paint sometimes requires ventilation, however by opening Windows, you are adding more humidity to the air which will slow the drying time considerably. As long as you are using water based paints, you should be able to paint with the house closed up. Running the air conditioner will remove the humidity from the air which will help the paint to dry in a reasonable time.

If someone in the household is intolerant to the fumes, they probably should not be in the house at all until the paint has dried whether the house is open or closed.
