Replacing the starter in a 1993 Mercury Capri requires the following steps:
- Disconnect the battery by loosening the negative cable
- Locate the starter on the passenger side of the engine near the transmission
- Disconnect the starter wiring harness
- Remove the starter mounting bolts and remove the starter
- Install the new starter making sure to line up the mounting bolts
- Tighten the mounting bolts to secure the starter
- Reconnect the starter wiring harness
- Tighten the negative cable to the battery
