How do you get a chipmunk out of your house?

Prop up a laundry basket with a stick. Tie a string to the stick. Do this setup where you are seeing the chipmunk. Put his favorite treat under the laundry basket. If you don't know what to use as bait, use birdseed, like sunflowers from your wild birdseed store. When he goes under the basket, pull the string.
