The construction of the Great Wall of China during the Ming Dynasty took place over approximately 200 years. The Ming Dynasty ruled from 1368 to 1644, and significant construction on the wall occurred primarily in the 15th and 16th centuries. The most well-preserved sections of the Great Wall, which we recognize today, were built during this period to defend against Mongol invasions.
