It's easier said than done (duh, isn't everything). It might be impossible without pulling your cabinets from the walls. Every hole would need to be patched. Every crack and every molding would need to be caulked. Every Plumbing entry would need to be caulked. That includes water, both hot and cold, natural gas, and heating system. Caulk would be required around every drain (where it enters the wall or floor), the base of every toilet and around every tub. Some water needs to be added to any unused plumbing periodically to replace that which evaporated from the trap. Every vent should be filtered, and its face plate should be properly secured and/or caulked. Every door, window, switch, outlet, cable connection and phone connection should be properly insulated. The integrity of any existing caulk should be verified.
