Why do people call penises ''pee-pees''?

It is a name that has been used for centuries and the reason for it has probably been lost. It is one of several personal male names that are used for the penis such as Peter, John, Thomas, Willy etc along with many other slang terms.
in my opinion say dick because it's more comfortable and less awkward to say
