Indigenous peoples in North America lived in various styles of homes, depending on their geographic location and cultural practices. Plains tribes often used tipis made of buffalo hides, while those in the Southwest constructed adobe pueblos. Coastal tribes built longhouses or plank houses using wood, and the Inuit used igloos made of snow or sod. Each style was adapted to the environment and resources available to the respective communities.
