Te amo is a Portuguese equivalent of '[I] love you'. The personal pronoun 'te' means 'you'. The verb 'amo'means '[I] am loving, do love, love'. Together, they're pronounced 'chee AH-moo' in Portugal and according to the carioca accent of Rio de Janeiro in Brazil.
In Portugal, we say "(Eu) Amo-te", not "Te amo", only Brazilians use that expression. And in Portugal "te" is not pronounced "chee" and "amo" is not pronounced "AH-moo", again, only brazillians speak like that.
