Which of the Greek deities was the protector of women in childbirth?

-Although Greek mythology did not have a Goddess associated specifically with these ideas, Hera would probably be the closest. She was definitely feminine and the loveliest of all the Goddesses as well as Queen of the Gods. She definitely stood up for women. In those days, women's rights basically meant that men should treat their wives well. She also expected women to behave appropriately and in accordance with social norms, however.
