How did Mr Popper select the names of the penguins in the book?

he selected those names "bitey, mr.captain,lovey,stinky,loudy and nimrod'' because that is what they do. so like if bitey bites people then that is why his name is bitey. if mr.captain acts like a real captain then thats maybe yhe is named like that. please sucscribe if you liked this answer
