What was Kansas like 1000 years ago?

Well, this question is kind of hard to answer due to the lack of recorded history from 1000 years ago. However, Kansas probably was used for agriculture by humans that migrated there throughout time. The USA as a whole was a beautiful animal friendly place for a very long time. This being true for even the Native Americans protecting and nurturing the lands when they lived there.
