The amount of calories in a given fat or oil varies slightly according to which particular type it is, but all of them have about 9,000 calories [note the small "c" here]. Note that nutritionists and the food industry normally refer to kilocalories [kcal], and usually write this as "Calories" [i.e. with a capital "C"]. Hence in common parlance, 1g of fat has about 9 Calories.
