Can you join Facebook at 12 years of age with parental approval?

You must be at least 13 years old to register for an account on Facebook.

According to the Facebook Privacy Policy page:

"No information from children under age 13. If you are under age 13, please do not attempt to register for Facebook or provide any personal information about yourself to us. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under age 13, we will delete that information as quickly as possible."

And the Facebook Information for Parents and Educators page:

"Facebook requires individuals to be at least 13 years old before they can create an account. In some jurisdictions, the age limit may be higher. Providing false information to create an account is always a violation of our Statement of Rights and Responsibilities. This includes accounts registered on the behalf of under 13 year old children by older parties."
