A screening test can be a general health check that will pass or point out things that need looked into further.

An employer may give screening tests to see if you meet general guidelines or minimum requirements for a job ie... criminal background check, drivers license, can answer general knowledge questions. If you pass the tests may become progressively more detailed and geared more specifically toward a particular position with a company.
