What effect does the midnight sun have on people?

I read the partial draft off Stephenie Meyer's website. I thought it was the most wonderful thing I read the part where Edward first watches Bella sleep. What he describes, his feelings, is what got me completely obsessed with the series. LOVE IT!!!

The effect? In love with a fictional vampire. Not sure if this is what you meant.
