What technology did the british bring to the region of India?

The British gave India oppression and discrimination. It took away its Natural Resources and wealth. On the positive side it united India which had been many different principalities before, built a good civil service, great infrastructures, one of the world's greatest railway systems. got rid of the Thuggee cult which had claimed over a million victims. (this brought Britain some loyalty and support).
Women were treated quite poorly in native India before the British. The custom of "suttee" was prohibited, thankfully, with the invasion of the British. Also, the killing of female infants was monitored and measures were taken to stop it. The first comission set by British to evaluate the Indian context for their position recommended that Indians are very strong with their will power because of their education. So, to break them, the education system should be changed.
(I think it is Lord Mcaulay) They shown us the way of unity. Without them, our country might have still divided themselves into smaller kingdoms and fighting b/w each others paving way for others to loot.
