It's possible but very unlikely that your child could contract herpes from you. Herpes isn't passed through genetics or while the baby is in the womb. Passing herpes to the baby is possible if you happen to have a break out of genital herpes at the time the baby comes through the birth canal. If there isn't any sign of a break out at the time you give birth then you can have a natural delivery and a healthy baby. If you don't want to take any risks of passing herpes to the baby then you can have a c-section which completely eliminates the risk of herpes being passed on,
