When did Jesse Stone get Reggie?

Jesse Stone acquired Reggie, his dog, in the 2005 television movie "Jesse Stone: Stone Cold." The character, portrayed by Tom Selleck, adopts Reggie as a companion while dealing with his personal struggles and the challenges of being a police chief in the fictional town of Paradise, Massachusetts. Reggie has since become an integral part of Jesse's character throughout the subsequent films in the series.
