What was the colored farmers alliance and why was it formed?

Formed in the 1880's after both colored and whites faced difficulties from the rising price of farming and the decreasing profits which were coming from farming. Since the Farmers' Alliance, in the South, didn't allow people of color to join, they formed their own alliance.
