It is a tricky move I'll admit. You have to bend your arms and put your palms on the ground above your head, bend your knees and bring them to your chest. Then thrust your legs up and out while pushing off with your hands. Arch your back as you launch and snap upright when your feet hit the ground. The trick is using enough force with both arms and legs together. Practice makes perfect!
The kip-up is a very hard maneuver to make; not only does it require a lot of strength and skill, but it requires a lot of energy and is therefore rarely used in a real fight.
