Why do rhinos have extremely acute hearing and smelling?

Rhinoceros have very poor vision. To compensate, they have an Excellent sense of smell. If you are ever near on in the wild, make sure you stay downwind so it cannot smell you. If they smell humans, they may become spooked and charge at up to 40 miles per hour.
