Applications of voltage regulator

Voltage regulators are used in many applications. One particular usage is in the common automobile or truck. System voltage is regulated to between 13.5 and 15.0 volts to keep vehicle battery charged. Regulators are also used at power plants, generator sets, electronic gear and many things else too numerous to mention. Computers regulate voltage for typical computer circuits to 5 or 12 volts respectively.
