How do you find out if your best friend likes you?

Sometimes this can become very awkward if you are in Love with him/her too. But you can tell by tellling maybe a girl best friend about this cute quy (or vise versa) when he is close enough to hear and then you can see his reaction. When i was talking to my friend about a cute guy, he complete yelled out "What" and me and my friend were like "Wow you don't need to know this" and he frowned.
