What traning do you need to become a photographer?

Depends on what you want to do and you own abilities. Many photographers like myself have no formal training at all but learn by just doing it and reading books. The basics of Photography are really very simple and can be learned from a book in a day. But to be a good photographer, wither you're self taught of formally trained, requires shooting thousands of photos to learn to use your camera intimately.

If you want a high end professional job, you will usually need a college degree. Otherwise most photo jobs don't normally require any formal education, but it can help to have it

What counts in photography, as in any creative or artistic profession, is how good you are, how good you portfolio is. If you can get to that level on your own that's great, if not then take whatever courses you need to get there.
