Do doctors test for drugs in a urine test?

Depends on why they're adminstering the drug test. If the test is administered under court order, or to an inmate of the correctional system, or if the patient is under arrest and submits to the test, the answer is yes. In other cases, the patient is most likely protected by HIPAA or state privacy law. If the patient presents at the hospital of their own accord, and a CHEM panel is run, the hospital or doctor cannot legally offer the results to law enforcement without transgressing HIPAA.
