McDonald's prices in 1959

In Peoria, Il Hamburgers were 15 cents, cheeseburgers were 19 cents, fries (one size only) were 12 cents, Soft drinks, Coke, Rootbeer and Orange Drink were 10 cents (also one size only) and shakes were 25 cents. That was the entire menu. Pay was $1.00 per hour. There was no dining room and no enclosure. Customers were literally outside when they placed their orders at the counter. We prepared our own fries from scratch.
