Is there a diagnostic port on a 2001 Toyota Solara and where is it located?

Yes. It's an OBD II port and it's located under the dash to the right of the steering wheel. You can borrow an OBD II reader (free) from many auto supply stores. The reader will tell you why an engine or other warning light has come on. It will also turn the light off once the repair has been made.
